To make friends, they need to accept your friend request. If they say yes, you become friends, and you can check out their Trainer Profile on your Friend List. If they don’t respond, your request will disappear after a week/7 days.

But the ultimate question is what’s the max amount of friends you can have on Pokemon Go? You can add up to 400 friends in your Niantic Friend List, including friends from other Niantic apps. However, if you hit that limit which is to go beyond 400 friends, you’ll have to remove some friends before you can add more or new friends.
